So I wanted to try it out with an old favorite of mine playing on a difficulty level called "I am a freight train o' death".. only thing is it only lets me record a little bit so I tried to make it as good as I could. But anyway here's a taste of the game Rise Of The Triad and how I play it. I want to make different ones later showing different areas and maybe different games. *edit* I replaced the first video with one that shows the whole first level being played by me. The only problem now is that getting toward the end I start shooting more bad guys that are far away and it is hard to see what I'm shooting. It's also hard to see the part toward the end where a lightning guard tried to shoot me with a rocket but I dodged it.
But there's just something satisfying about blowing up baddies with the rocket launcher especially with EKG mode on that adds extra blood to the explosion. The part where I become taller and have that weird moan and shoot fireballs from my hand is when I picked up the hand of god powerup.
It's just too bad the divx compression and online flash video makes it look fuzzier than it should be. I usually play that game at a razor sharp 1024x768.
Here's another quicky, this time from a level in "Extreme ROTT" an add on level pack for ROTT that has harder levels than the original. The weapon I'm using is called the "Drunk Missile" rocket launcher:
A little background on this game. This is an underrated overlooked FPS from the days when Doom was popular. In this game the bullet weapons like the pistols and the MP4 machine gun had infinite ammo (without a cheat code) but the rocket weapons have only 5 shots each and you can only carry one rocket launcher at the same time so if you go pick up another one you drop the one you where carrying. So at any given time your arsenal is a pistol or two, a machine gun and a rocket launcher... not the 8+ weapons you usually carry around with you in the typical game. This game was ahead of its time with things that other games later implemented like the jump pads. It even had a level or two that focused on the puzzle aspect (almost no bad guys but lots of environmental hazards and trying to figure out how to get around them) which later I enjoyed in Prey as well.
I setup the right mouse button on my mouse to toggle between bullet weapon and rocket launcher which becomes like primary and secondary weapon. I can beat the game with just the MP40 and I have.. at least the shareware episode but it's just fun to also mix in the other weapons especially the various rocket launcher weapons that are in the game.
