In the past quarter century, we exposed biases against other races and called it racism, and we exposed biases against women and called it sexism. Biases against men we call humor.
—Warren Farrell, Women Can't Hear What Men Don't Say

I was looking up misandry in wikipedia and spotted that quote towards the bottom. I have never even heard this word before today. I was reading an forum entry where this one girl was putting her list of demands she thinks all males should follow. Someone said they detected misandry in her post. I started to wonder... if a woman hater is considered a misogynist is a male hater a misandrynist ? See this word is so new to me I had to think about that a bit. I don't think it's entered the english lexicon yet. Especially if what I have quoted above is true.

I then followed the link to the article which talks about the "Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them!" stuff.

This is terrible.

There are many notable quotes from Steve Jobs over the years. There is one in particular that I want to touch upon:

We don’t know how to make a $500 computer that’s not a piece of junk and our DNA will not let us ship that.

The easiest way to interpret that is to take it at face value and think that if Apple made a $500 computer it'd be a piece of junk. Or think that it has something to do with the original entry level Mac Mini which debuted at $499.. it was really said in the context of laptops and netbooks and that is what he was referring to.

None of Apple's computers are under $500 at the moment especially if you add any build to order options. So none of Apple's current computers are pieces of junk even if you go by the former assumption. The lowest price Mac Mini right now is $600 by itself.

I'd like to think however that Steve was being clever and making double talk marketing speak and that he's really saying they are working on that "problem" and we will be seeing non-junky $500 Mac in the future. Steve is known for sometimes denying things that they are working on then releasing them later.

Our integrity sells for so little, but it is all we really have. It is the very last inch of us. But within that inch we are free.
- Valerie, V For Vendetta

Yeah this could have easily have been a tweet but I felt like posting it here rather than there.

Kind of a pointless post but still amusing to me.

Mealloaf Surprise:
"Paragraphs are fun.
And a great way to break up thoughts.
But each sentence,
does not need its own
paragraph."

l0b0:
"Unless you're making
such an insightful comment
that the monkeys-in-pants
staring up at you
on your pedestal of intelligence
will have to be fed the information
bite-wise for their brains
not to explode."
