This is just one of those stories that are too compelling not to post. There are two things I disagree with about this whole situation..... and it's mostly about the way people including the authorities reacted to it. This is how it seems it happened. Like they said the kid missed the bus and he wanted to go to school. He probably didn't want to bother his mom who was sleeping and figured it must be easy to drive maybe partially due to driving in video games but that's not a scape goat here.

He drove a few miles and then crashed into a utility pole. Then he got out and continued walking to school. This much determination to get to school tells me he wasn't out for a joyride. I admire his tenacity in getting to school I find it hard to believe most kids can be that way most would have taken that opportunity to skip school. So here are the two things I disagree with:

A) He should be beaten (comments on the youtube video): I don't know about this. Maybe if he doesn't understand what he did and it's the only way to get through to him but that would be tragic. He may have learned his lesson already by crashing and getting a bump on his head. The latter seems likely because of his tenacity in getting to school. He could have tried to go anywhere. Plus if they beat him for that he may not want to drive a car ever again.

B) The parents being charged: I understand the states decision on this but how was the mom supposed to know he'd get the keys and attempt to drive? Do all parents have to lock away their keys in fear that their children will try to drive themselves to school? I think it's a little unreasonable for them to intervene and interfere with this situation.

My family told me they somehow "convinced" my sister to rent a two bedroom apartment with me so she can go to college here in albuquerque.

The more I think about it the more I'm not sure about that arrangement. First I don't think she liked living in the same house as me when I still lived at home. Then there where other things that made it hard for me to live with her. I don't want to go into any petty details but suffice to say the more I think of it the more I can imagine it being difficult.

Speaking of difficult it is difficult for me to talk to her because it's like she is judging everything a person says. She's always judging me saying that she doesn't want to be like me. She was always more friendly to me when she doesn't have any friends to talk to.

I told my parents on the phone that we are going to need to sit down together and discuss this because there are a lot of things that we need to consider.

The only way I can see it working is maybe if she is hardly ever around like practically only coming home to sleep. Either that or she makes some changes which I am not sure would happen.

Yesterday I was out most of the evening because my parents had come over and took me out to a few places. First we went to the hot air balloon museum which is next to the field where they hold the anual international balloon fiesta. They had some interesting exhibits but they are still working on that museum so there still is more they will be having later.

Then we went and has pizza at dions and I had a cheese pizza though I was like hey I should have ordered green chili on it because anyway I was loading it up with those red pepper seeds they keep at the table. Hey I like the spices! lol

Then after that we went to the dollar movies and saw war of the worlds. When we got to the dollar movies my dad found his old best friend there who was there to see the dukes of hazzard and he stayed outside before the movie started talking to him and they where seating for our movie and my family stayed out there for a few more minutes. I was like are they going to stand out there and talk instead of coming to watch the movie? But they did get in the room and sat down at least 10 minutes before the movie started.

My impression of the movie is that it was pretty good but tense like it makes you feel uncomfortable in your seat. Before we wen't to the movies we stopped at the store and got me a jacket because it was getting cold and I didn't have a jacket with me. We didn't have enough time to get groceries for me though so today after class my parents are coming over so we can do that (I'm typing this up during break).

This class that I am in now is network+ and all the computers here are running Windows server 2003 which is pretty much a revised Windows XP with things locked down by default, themes off and services for running a server installed by default.

BTW, my png graphics look proper in Opera too and I kind of think IE on mac can display the PNG graphics proper too but who wants to use that? lol =X IE on PC on the other hand, *thumbs down* So it's like I recommend:

Mac: Safari, Camino, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla
PC: Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, K-meleon

Oh yeah BTW, to my friends out there you are welcome to use my palace server when I am not around I have it open pretty much 24 hours so if you want to play around with things like 32-bit avatars you are more than welcome to download phalanx or palacechat go there and invite your friends.

This afternoon I was gone because I went to the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta "Balloon Glow" with my family.

I got a comfy chair for when I go to places like that now it's a "mushroom chair" and it was nice when I was there at the balloon glow this time around.

They charged us 14 bucks for two large dippin dots coffee flavored ice creams. =p

Afterwards my dad was getting us lost and it took forever to get home as we where all over Albuquerque. =p

An interesting thing is they announced that they have a wi-fi hot spot there at the fiesta. So next year I'm taking a laptop with me and I'll be messaging while I'm waiting and I will post pictures live, that would be interesting. I could have this time if i knew in time because my parents have a laptop it just needs a wireless card. By this time next year I might have my own laptop to take with a wireless card. I also need a digital camera.

My parents did get a disposable camera so I am going to post some photos when they get that developed.
