I was reading my friends list and something someone said for some reason made me think of "whack". In "net jargon" or "IT lingo" or whatever you call it I heard that people call a back slash or even a forward slash a "whack". So when you describe a url or path you say something like whack users whack smoketetsu for /users/smoketetsu/ or C colon whack program files whack for c:\program files\ but to me that's just whack! I've always used forward slash or backslash and that makes more sense to me. But my instructor at New Horizons Computer learning center said that if you said that in the IT industry they would think you are a n00b (I forgot exactly what he said).

So here's my question for you. Is there any jargon\terminology that you don't particularly care for\bugs you? Don't be shy leave a comment and tell me what it is! I promise I wont whack you. ;)

BTW, it doesn't have to be computer terminology\lingo.

Some of my friends at design class where talking about rendering a character and the drawing teacher who is an old school guy told us when he thinks of rendering he thinks of rendering plants where animals get slaughtered. =P

So if some terminology from a non-computer source bugs you feel free to leave a comment about it too.
