This is pretty interesting to me. I just read that a man in Japan said that a woman lived in his closet for a year and he didn't know it until he noticed food was missing from his refrigerator. The type of closet he has is one of those deep dark ones meant for storing japanese futons when not in use. I notice there that it says she made use of his shower and everything during that year as he even described her as being, "neat and clean." Wouldn't he have noticed more stuff disappearing faster than it should? Either he is one of the most oblivious men in the world or he actually let her stay there and she started costing him too much so he cooked up this story to get rid of her. I'm guessing at the very least he didn't use that closet. But I find it hard to believe that he never looked in there for a whole year.. especially since his apartment is probably small. Is it just me or does something seems a little fishy about this story?

I read a comment (I forgot where as I had to follow a trail of links to find the original story).... that it kind of reminded someone of a group of people who made an apartment in a mall. The idea was that the mall has everything you need to live. That kind of reminded me of Dawn of The Dead. Anyway... they managed to furnish the "apartment" with stuff they bought at the mall sneaking it in different ways. They just didn't have heat or plumbing and had to sneak out to use the mall's bathrooms and they had to run power cords to a utility closet for their electricity. They also had to sneak stuff in using a 2 foot wide passageway... as well as jumping through other hoops to get it into their "apartment". They are now permanently banned from the mall.

I'm not sure I'd live comfortable in either scenario myself. I'd be living on edge thinking that any day I could be busted. I kind of think those people had guts. But I also kind of think the lady's situation was a bit more desperate and more of a survival situation than the guys who moved into the mall. I kind of admire people who are resourceful enough to do something unconventional like that. It kind of makes me think of how I was reading about people who make use of wasted property like roof tops, spaces in between buildings and such to build small homes for themselves. I'd like to see the show I read they had on BBC 3 called "Guerilla Homes" that was all about that.
