One of the most amusing "apps" on facebook is the "Bits of Flair" wall. I think it was probably based on that thing in office space where they where wearing a bunch of buttons on their suspenders and Jennifer Aniston's boss (played by Mike Judge) gave her a hard time for not having enough flair. On facebook it's a cork board type thing that lets you place buttons on it of things that you like. You get them using "credits" which you earn by sending bits of "flair" to friends. I made myself a flair wall:

Take a look at my wall )

There are obviously lots more things that I could add since I like so many things but I thought that was a good mix to start off with. I may even make some buttons myself later. I enjoy making things like that.

So I read this article recently about Harrison Ford and how some people have spotted him wearing a "manzeer" recently. They explain why males have nipples and breasts. Something that caught my eye though was someone's comment:

"A male can only create another male. Females can only create another female. Every man on this earth shares the same Y chromosome that was passed down by every man before him. The only thing that happens inside of a female is incubation."
"In all actuality, people come from the male and not the female. It depends on which sperm makes it in the egg. The sperm with the XX chromosomes, or the sperm with the XY chromosome. The sperm head contains all of the information with-in it."

Eh? This person makes it sound like eggs are just blank vessels with no DNA whatsoever and all DNA comes from males. As far as I know people get their DNA 50/50 from the mother and from the father. People trace ancestry through mitochondrial DNA which is only passed down through the mother's side. This can be traced way way back. There isn't anything similar on the male's side that I have heard of. If anything this person has things backwards. Do I detect male chauvinism on their part? I tell you this person just has to be wrong!

I was seeing a post on one of the Mac communities with someone who was talking about what they have to do to keep their mighty mouse scroll ball clean and functioning. Whenever someone talks about the Mighty Mouse and the problems they have with it there's always someone who comes out of the woodwork to say that they should be using another mouse instead like the Logitech MX Revolution.

Now, I'm not saying that's a bad mouse or anything. More power to the people who use it and all that. But I dislike how some people seem to always trump it as the mouse everyone should use. I myself never had any problems with my Mighty Mouse scroll ball and having used it for quite a while now I really like my Mighty Mouse. I wouldn't trade it for anything except perhaps a new multi-touch mighty mouse. I almost feel like defending the Mighty Mouse whenever someone slanders it in comments.

I do think it's about time that Apple comes out with a new Mouse though. One that again has multi-touch. I used to be against the idea but having seen how well it has worked out I think it would be a good idea. Anyway.. the Mighty Mouse hasn't been as bad to me as it seems to have been for some people. I now think it's better than the MacMIce.ca mouse that I got one time. I used to use Logitech before either mice and I can't say that I miss it. I like having all my peripherals matching and I want to keep the stuff that's non-coordinating to a minimum.
