I've been using this wallpaper for the past couple of days because it's cute to me.

Speaking of cute.. take a look at this picture from this past week's Doctor Who.

With all the hysterics I can almost see gamers becoming the modern day Witches. Salem Gamer Trial anyone? Time to hunt some gamers? I mean really.. what are they going to do? Round up everyone who happens to like playing video games into concentration camps? Timmy: "I like to play video games" Them: "Get a rope!"

I don't think it's right to blame something like that on depression either though.. there are many people who are depressed who wouldn't take another persons life. Something like that is probably caused by a great number of things. Perhaps it's just easy to pin the blame on one thing but if it causes them to treat certain types of people like Gamers or depressed people badly then they are treading the wrong path.

I'm glad to see this article put the blame squarely on the head of the shooter. Although if you are to analyze him you have to know which thing is the thing that most likely caused him to be the way he was and take it from me it probably wasn't either depression or games.

The entry I wrote yesterday wasn't directly related although it's oddly appropriate because of how the media has wasted no time blaming video games for that latest tragedy. They have even made up stories to push their own agenda.

Even Dr. Phil has joined in and before I didn't really take him as fully credible or even a real Doctor. Now though his credibility is even lower now in my opinion. I kind of consider him one of those Cracker Jack Doctors. Ones who probably got their degree out of a box of cracker jack.

Cracker Jack Thompson... don't say his name into a monitor five times in a dark computer lab at midnight or you'll invoke him. ;)

Some guy got 12 days in jail because his school messed up with daylight savings time.

This slot machine looks interesting. It's a mini slot machine and it's all mechanical and stuff kind of like steampunk.

This iPod case looks interesting.. I think it looks better than the one they used in Painkiller Jane.

I'm not sure this is really all that good an idea. I think coiled cords went away because they always get messed up after a while and get real tangled and just plain messed up.

Saitek has an interesting looking mouse although I'm a bit skeptical about the touch sensor scroll thingy. I also don't care for how it has red around that touch sensor and then white next to the sides. I would prefer it if it was just one color for the shell. They should also have one that is shiny white. But Saitek does make good products even if they are not the best looking and this is their best looking product to date. I own one of their gamepads and I like it the most out of any pad I have used and would like to get their ugpraded model. One person had a good idea

"Hmm, with a little work, this could make the perfect BOFH mouse.
/make the whole thing jet black.
/make the touch sensitive part slightly raised, vs indented.
Would make the mouse appear to be just a black stone sitting on a desk."

I heard the next pirates of the carribean movie is going to run three hours. I know a certain person who probably isn't going to want to watch it at the theater because of that. She went to go see Grindhouse and could barely handle sitting there that long for that movie and said if they are going to make another one she's probably not going to go see it because of that.

I might get more things to post about later but that's it for this moment.

Here is an article that might interest those who want to edit out backgrounds from their images and make them transparent so they can make icons\avatars out of them. Although I kind of wonder how wel it works with complex things like my icon where I edited it but kept the whiskers\fuzzy fur or if this is just for hard edged things. I used masking to do that.

Why do they have to always pick on PC Gamers with articles\threads like this? This is practically worse than the "The PC Is dying" meme. They say that they are tired of PC Gamers taking pot shots at them but it looks to me they they are the ones taking pot shots with things like this.

I wish the hate would stop. Especially since PCs are used to make mods and even the games themselves. I don't hate console gamers and I may play a console or two every once in a while. I just hate the attitude. But yeah things like this always happen when there are two or more things that are percieved as in competition by some people. Just like coke and pepsi.. or any other such thing. This whole thing is pretty immature even the article itself.

They make a few good points about the benefits of a PC but they liberally pepper it with things that put down PC Gamers in an immature way and it doesn't make the site look professional. They don't even have the facts right with some of those things... for example.. GamerTags (and Live) are coming to the PC so they shouldn't even be talked about there. Also I'm a PC Gaming fan but I don't necessarily agree with things like "Will Wright is a bigger genius than Shigeru Miyamoto." In fact the whole article is littered with generalizations that aren't necessarily true. All in all I give them a thumbs down for this article.

Some people at Inside Mac Games might yell at me saying it's just a joke article but I don't care. Sometimes things meant as jokes just aren't funny and I don't like the idea that someone could say whatever and then afterwards say it's a joke when someone takes them to task.

This product looks interesting... I actually like the look of gadgets as they are like the iPod or my Mac Mini but it would be nice if they where more scratch resistant. I kind of question whether it is worth what they charge for it but I just like the idea to make gadgets more scratch resistant. I wish I had put something like that on the top of my Mac Mini before I attempted to upgrade it because I accidently scratched the top when I turned it over to upgrade the RAM. I'm not sure I'd want to pay 24 dollars for that privilege though. Especially since I'm not sure of the quality or how they would affect the visibility of the screen for example or how durable they are.
