I couldn't help myself.. I changed the graphics in my new livejournal layout... all made from scratch by me. It might not be the best graphics ever but it's my graphics. I feel as self conscious about it as you might expect for me to. The pinstripe was the dark one I made the other day and then I edited it today and it ended up looking sort of like the aqua pinstripe.

It sort of made me think of how I sort of like different style of art and things like that and that might rub people the wrong way. Some people stopped being my friends because I like more than just the one thing they are focused on. For example I used to have a Goth friend who I used to collaborate with making artwork and themes but he stopped being my friend because I also like to make things on the light side sometimes. I had an anime friend who stopped being my friend because I like more than just anime. Same thing with music styles I had a heavy metal friend who felt alienated from me because I was branching out and was listening to other very different styles of music as well as rock and metal. It's unfortunate that they would stop being my friends but I refuse to be contained in a box. Variety is the spice of life right?

Random thought for today. You know what is another thing I hate. When people say *insert thing here* GET OVER IT! Like for example this one guy said, "Pluto's not a planet, GET OVER IT!"

I know in the Pluto example some people where simply refusing to believe that Pluto's not a planet but in my case If someone tells me a reasonable reason for a certain thing they are saying and it sounds plausible then I would say, "Sure maybe you are right"... or, "You might have a point there".. or something like that. When they just say it and then just say GET OVER IT! It's offensive to me and feel like, "Excuse me? Get over it? I'm to get over it just because YOU say so? *glare*"

That doesn't fly with me.

Also if a certain person or people are having a hard time believing something it might take them some time to come to terms with the new information. So let them, "get over it" in their own time. Like for example with the Pluto situation they have been teaching that Pluto is the ninth planet for over 50 years so that is a legacy that doesn't vanish overnight. So telling people to just "GET OVER IT" is not helping anything. In fact it might make some people even more resistant.
