I caught a bit of Ripley's Believe it or not today. They showed a "Monocycle" and said the one the person made in the video is a one of the kind original creation. There's one thing though and I've already seen something similar... in an anime movie called "Steamboy".
So I kind of felt like giving the credit to the people who made that. But not so fast! Similar vehicles have been made in the past as this page can attest to. A person might even say that having a cycle with one wheel is a very old concept in general but the difference here is that you are sitting inside the wheel rather than on top of it.
At any rate the claims that Ripley's Believe It or Not make are inaccurate when they say that the guy in the video's monocycle is the only one in the world.
