I saw a thread on macthemes where someone was making a new world clock background and it inspired me to make one for myself and here's how it looks:

I have been wanting to also remake the iCal events widget and I may do that next.

It's a computer case made to look like the HAL9000 supercomputer in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I'm a big 2001 fan so that was right up my alley!

To go with the steampunk keyboard, mouse, and monitor.

[check it out]

Now all we need to do is get all these mods in the same setup. =P Actually I would like this mod more if it was built into a special kind of retro desk and ten you can see the dials\stuff on the front.

Remember the steampunk keyboard? Well they have gone and made more matching stuff to go with it. First off here is the steampunk monitor and also the steampunk mouse. The mouse looks interesting but doesn't look too comfy. I totally dig the monitor... and I like the effect of having everything matching.

I don't know how I missed this before... this page shows how you can make your very own steampunk keyboard. I featured the steampunk laptop before but I like this one even more because this project simply looks nicer. The idea that they used (clothes) buttons to make keys was cute to me also.

I also like their other projects on that site like the Altoids can etchings. I would like to see them do more computer related projects though.

It looks like me tagging my entries is starting to pay off. If you click on the steampunk tag on this or the next entry you can see all my posts regarding the subject. I gotta say.. the steampunk laptop I wrote about earlier isn't as tastefully done as this is.

.......... How did I miss the TARDIS in the last video demonstrating how you can touch type with this keyboard? O_o;

I saw this over at engadget... *edit* I fixed the links hopefully....

Steampunk Laptop

I've always found steampunk to be interesting and someone actually made a functioning laptop that is steampunk. Engadget described it as looking like it came out of the movie, "Pi". Although others have pointed out that it looks more like it came out of the movie "Brazil" or "Naked Lunch" and also said "Max Headroom" also featured computers that looked like typewriters and i would also add the 1984 movie that had John Hurt.

Here is a steampunk desktop.

They also have other cool things such as this robot

This stuff belongs in a Sci-Fi movie!

The computer stuff kind of makes me think of my old friend, Darkalloy. He modded his computer in an interesting way as well.

Although I myself would be happy to even just have a desk that has good cable management.
