Why someone would want to use all their applications full screen? I like being able to have different applications open in their own windows. I would hate to be forced to have to use all applications especially instant messengers full screen. I don't like how some people are thinking that full screen for all applications is the future. For some applications like media center type apps or games full screen is an ok thing but other applications it's best to be in windows especially to multitask. To be honest this would be going backwards not making progress. In the past when we didn't have systems like Windows or Mac OS we had to launch programs from the command line and we could only use one program at a time full screen and people actually think this is the future?

I'm happy with how I can be typing this in my LJ client and easily switch to an e-mail or an instant message.

If you want to devote a whole screen to a task then you should use virtual desktops or there is an application for OS X that you can use to set any app to be full screen if you really want that. But dont' force it upon me by having it become the only behavior for all applications in a future OS.

I'm sorry it just sort of struck a nerve with me a bit.

My question to my readers is.. would you like it if all your applications where full screen?
