Upcoming Mac Games!
Sep. 19th, 2009 05:19 pmThis may be an old game by now but many people have been bemoaning the fact that it only came out for the consoles with no PC release in sight. Well.... thanks to Aspyr (who I thought had bowed out of porting games to the Mac) is handling the port not only for the PC but for the Mac as well. There's one thing I know for sure... one is going to need a beefy new Mac to play it. The iMac is rumored to being updated in the next few weeks so maybe that's what they are targetting. Anyhow it's great to see a new Star Wars game come to the Mac\PC. The Mac in particular hasn't seen one in a long time and they used to come out for it all the time. The Mac\PC version is going to be called the ultimate sith edition and is going to have extra levels not in the console versions. It's to come out in the fall.
I didn't see that coming!
Here's another one I didn't see coming. Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena. It's a revamp of the previous chronicles of riddick that came out for the Xbox. This came out earlier this year for the 360, PS3 and PC. Nice to see it coming to the Mac. Virtual Programming is doing this.
Those are the two surprise games from the list. The rest of the list I either knew about... are not interested or both. I would wager that both of those games will require intel macs. I wonder what the multiplayer options will be like.
I'm still waiting for Feral to make good on them bringing out Bioshock for the Mac though. They where wearing bioshock t-shirts to last year's Macworld and I have been expectant ever since. I kind of think they are focusing more on Rome Total War at this point.
