I was passing by this beanbag in my room when I heard something meow behind me... I turned around and saw this.... and thought... oh, wow.. she discovered the beanbag... how cute! This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity so I had to take a picture!

I look forward to this movie:

Disney has the rights to it and they are the ones doing the voice casting although they aren't going to promote it much. This is probably because it's a 2D movie and here in the USA 3D is king. They probably are going to also have a limited release in the theater. I want to at least watch it on disc.... perhaps blu-ray when my family gets it.

How do you embed it in a widescreen fashion?

I am checking out a page that is full of cute\funny\interesting stuff. Some of my favorite things are:

Panda Skillet - I could see me cooking in this. Yes, I do cook.

Domo-kun Plush - Need I say more? I WANT!

Stiloso Rojo Headphones - I first saw these at urban outfitters and thought they where cool in a retro sort of way. They probably sound real good too. I tend to prefer this style of headphones from a sound perspective and these look pretty nice to boot. It has an inline mic and works with the iPhone so it would be ideal for that if I ever got one.

poyoccho eye pillow - I'm including this here just because it's so silly! May be nice though.

These Zipper Pulls - Are cute!

If you look around that page you may find other stuff that you may like. I didn't want to list too much here. I also liked urban outfitters as well.

What I could really use though is a set of quirky\cute drink coasters for my desk. If anyone can recommend any please leave a comment!

This entry is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] seabizzit... this is one of those non-computer entries and if you don't like cute things you can skip this if you like.

[Easter Bunnies and Spring Lambs to Knit and Crochet (part II)]
Admittedly a day late.

[Snorkling For Babies by Snowmask]
A nice piece of art by Snowmask at Deviantart. I left her a comment and faved that deviation.

[Otaku's on Parade (in Japan)]
"The event featured cosplaying, maids and general geekery." Go them!

[Hamburger Dress]
Can I have fries with that?

[Moshi has a cute Intro Flash Animation for their "Celesta" Keyboard]
Ok I lied, I thought this would have nothing computer related in it.

They are coming out with some really good stuff from the GUI Champions (stardock) site and icons are especially one of them.. I found these set of icons there and I converted them to the mac for personal use because they are so nice\cute looking to me. I converted them from an iconpackager theme. They reminds me of mini figures or kubriks:

There are also other lovely icon themes which I converted to the mac also for personal use like like these ones. They are so good!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us Sometimes the independent game community can turn out some nice games and this is one of them... it's called "Dodge that Anvil!". It's a game where you control a bunny who must harvest enough carrots to complete a level while dodging anvils and sometimes there are missions where you have to do things such as pull up huge turnip type bombs and free a huge plant to complete that level. The pulling up of vegetables reminds me of Super Mario Brothers 2 (american of course since it was actually not a mario game in japan). You can either play the demo online or download a version to your computer that can use keyboard, mouse or gamepad. It's made for both PC or Mac.

The look kind of reminds me of paper mario where the characters are 2D and the backgrounds are 3D. One thing I have noticed about this game in particular is that the characters scale up well as you up the resolution as you can see in the screenshot I am now posting which was taken at 1280x1024. I think just about any modern PC or Mac can handle it's system requirements. I can't imagine it being more demanding than quake 1 when you come down to it. So if it looks interesting to you I suggest you give it a try even if you think your computer isn't up to snuff for the latest games.

Rabidlab games say on their web site that they are "dedicated to the creation of video games that appeal to casual and experienced game players alike" and I think they are off to a good start with "Dodge that anvil!". Which is their first and only game so far. Oh yeah.. I hooked up my PC gamepad to my Mac and used it to play the game and it works really well. I suggest if you have a USB gamepad somewhere to give it a try it's a little bit easier to get a hang of in this particular game than using the mouse (it's not a first or third person shooter after all). But either keyboard or mouse should work ok anyway.

I also might add that I think it'd be a great game for kids as well which is pretty obvious when you see the screenshots but it's a fun game so I think it could be fun for anyone as long as they are not allergic to cute. This game won an award at the 2006 Independent Games Festival. I tried it on my PC laptop and it works just as well there as it does on my Mac although because of the size of the screen it has to be played at 1024x768 so you can kind of consider the first shot to be representative of how it is on my laptop.

I just finished the demo on my Mac and I can't wait for the full version to come out!
