I was just laying down when I came to the conclusion that I would be remiss as a fan of The Ghostbusters if I didn't mention and embed this trailer:
I'm glad that Atari decided to pick this up because it would have been a tragedy if it didn't. Some of the artwork looks different and not necessarily better now but it's still looking awesome and the story-line actually looks like it might be pretty good. It feels somewhat like The Real Ghostbusters but with looks\settings\characters from the movies. That's actually a good thing in my opinion. The trailer does a pretty good job of getting me excited. I kind of wish I had The Real Ghostbusters cartoons in DVD quality.
I also wish I had a computer with specs high enough to play the game when it comes out this June. No, I'm not getting a console to play it (I can't even if I wanted to anyway). I want to play it with my preferred controller... the keyboard and mouse! When\if I get me a new Mac I'd definitely dual boot to windows to play that game amongst others. This game has been a long time coming. The last time I had a Ghostbuster game that I played a lot was on my first computer the Tandy 1000HX and the game came from the 80's. It was like this:
I was amused by the sing along title screen in it. There's a PC remake of this if you want to check it out. Too bad that remake isn't also for Mac. There's a Ghostbuters II Amiga game remake for OS X I'm going to give a try. Scratch that.. it's intel only (I have a PowerPC)... they said on the web page it's universal... it's made by the ones who made the Robocop 2D game that I wanted to try once but it too was intel only. I'm being left behind being stuck on PowerPC.
You know something? I would also like to see a CGI movie made in the same style as the new game except with higher quality\resolution rendering of course. The trailer of the game alone makes it look like it'd be better than the CGI TMNT movie which I actually thought was kind of disappointing.
I downloaded this trailer so I can watch again and again outside of my browser.
