I was going to put this in my other post I'm writing but it's so long it needs its own post. I've been dissatisfied with the Bit Torrent Transmission's UI lately. I mean it's 95% OK and there isn't anything that I like better for Bit Torrent on the Mac. But it could stand some improvement on Tiger. I was thinking that if it was a brushed metal window the bottom of the window would look better.
I can't open the .nib file for it (it's a file that determines the UI look in OS X).. in Tiger's version of interface builder. So I made a request for a mod at macthemes because they often do mods of applications there. It was harder than I thought it would be of course and so far no one has offered to do it. Mostly what I've gotten is people telling me obvious stuff that I already covered and telling me to edit an old version which is not ideal. All I need is minor edits to the .nib file of the current version. I would have to majorly h@xx0r or rework the old UI to make it like the new one but with a textured(brushed) window.
It would be easier to make this mod than to make a HUD mod to be honest with you. If I had a Mac running Leopard I would do it myself. But I wont be upgrading my Mac Mini to Leopard at least not anytime soon. First of all I can't buy it and I'm not going to pirate it especially since if I did.. it would definitely go over my download limit on my ISP. I'll be running Leopard when I get it on a new Mac most likely.
I don't tend to ask for help and for good reason. Most people don't know how to help me with the kind of problems I have on the computer. When I do I would like for people to read what I say carefully. The last time I asked for help it was technical cfg modding stuff for a game and that didn't go well either.
I almost feel like if I can't find the answer by googling around or figuring it out myself then nobody will and no one will help out.
