I knew of this one person a few weeks back who was looking into dual booting or getting Windows running on a virtual machine on her Mac just so she could run Myspace IM because there is no Myspace IM client for OS X. But Pidgin (formerly GAIM) has just added Myspace IM as one of their supported protocols in the new version of PIDGIN.

Adium on OS X uses the back end of Pidgin (libpurple) as it's back end with a nice OS X front end for it. So in the latest Adium beta it inherits new features that Pidgin has in its backend.. like.. you guessed it, Myspace IM.

I don't use Myspace at all myself but I figure a few others might find that useful information. I wish I still knew that person I mentioned in the beginning of this post so I could tell them about this. There are of course other fixes like improved AIM file transfer but I don't know if it fixes it between iChat and Adium. Some person told me that I should be using iChat for AIM and then the separate clients for the other IMs... I'm like hell no I just want to run ONE client.. Adium. It gets on all the protocols and is very customizable like Miranda IM but it's a lot simpler to setup and customize than it.

Pidgin isn't as customizable as either Adium or Miranda but it's still a nice IM that can get on all those networks and is simple to setup and it uses your system theme.
