I just wanted to highlight a couple of things...

First this picture:

taken from engadget.

Look how far we have come since the Apple Newton the predecessor to the iPhone... dang.. that thing looks HUGE compared.

There's also this:

It turns out that she wasn't actually pressing the touch screen she was pressing the empty space right below the touch screen. She's probably used to cell phones that have buttons below the screen. It didn't help that the other person thought the whole thing was controlled by the single button on center below the screen which is just the button to take you back to the main screen. Some people blamed the iPhone but it's like pressing the empty space next to a button on a regular phone and then blaming the phone for it not working.

I also thought of how some people have tech anxiety so even if something is incredibly easy to use they still will mess things up because of their anxiety. It seems like she is one of those people from how she was talking. I can see my parents doing something similar and it can be frustrating when you put something that should be easy to use like a big bright button to press and they fail to press it... again due to their anxiety.

Of course there are also people who said it was simply because she is a woman but I won't dignify that with a whole response. =P

If you have been following my journal for a while you would see that I have featured Meizu's stuff before. Meizu for those of you who don't know is a chinese MP3 player manufacturer. They made this nice looking playerthat I wouldn't mind having. Well.. they are now taking aim at the iPhone with their Meizu MiniOne iPhone style mobile phone. One nice thing so far is it has 16GB of storage which is twice as much as the bigger iPhone. Only thing is... even though nothing has been finalized importers are already pricing it at $988USD! That's even more ridiculous than the iPhone's price considering this may not even have all the same features working as good (multitouch anyone?). But it does have other features the iPhone lacks (like video chat it has a camera on the front so you can do that) a higher resolution screen and more chance for third party software. There's already skype for it (Windows Mobile).

*Edit* I had forgotten the link to the article... it's included now.
