Can someone tell me...

The appeal of this site called Twitter? Why would anyone want to read one sentence descriptions of what I'm doing updated whenever? What do people get out of it? Is it so people can read it and then sit there in smug superiority? I think having a blog is already more than enough... double so for those people who also have a myspace account. What am I doing?
