Plantronics USB Wireless Headset for VoIP It works with the Mac and Skype. I would prefer this over my USB handset and if I have to stick to skype for phone calls especially long distance I would like to go wireless with it.

I would like to get that and tell my family to put my regular phone service to local calls only and I will use Skype and this headset for the rest. If my phone bill costs 40 dollars a month it would cost 480 dollars a year. Way more than this headset and my skypeout subscription costs.

If I had the wireless headset I would consider shutting off my regular phone completely especially if I got a skypein subscription (30 a year) but you still need a regular phone for emergency calls.

Skypein+skypeout+headset=194 dollars for the first year and about 60 dollars a year after that.

I played some multiprey tonight. It was interesting but because of who I was connecting to it caused my ping to be high which caused a lot of lag at least when another player was in view which is the most crucial time. So the best I could hope to get was second place. The acid shotgun was as cool as I expected though.

There where two levels one that made full use of the wall-waling sidewalks and the other one which has areas where the walls have different gravity than the floor so the wall could be the floor if you walk up to it or when you walk up to a pit like section instead of falling down it you walk down the side and then to the ceiling underneath. I know it can be disorienting but I dugg it right away and was wandering around the area like it was second nature.

The thing that sucks though is the Mac version of the Prey Demo isn't compatible with the PC version for multiplayer so this causes a complete lack of servers to play on there where only a couple of other people who where hosting games on their own computers and who knows where they are so this makes the connection terrible and gives an utter lack of choices.

One thing that I noticed in the few multiprey games I participated in including one I hosted is it is heavily skewed toward the one who is hosting it because they have a 0 ping and the best I got hooking up to that person was around 100-150. Which in Prey still doesn't make things totally right when you are facing an opponent especially when during those times your ping spikes up to over 200. There was a person in multiprey who was playing the game on a PowerMac G5 but he was hurting because his ping was constantly 300 and over connecting to the particular person we where connected to!

I've only managed to get second place as a result when hooking up to another person. When having them hook up to me it's like an empty victory wailing on them because they have ~200 ping connecting to me.

Some people are basing their judgement of the game on their impression of the game having played these multiprey sessions!

The last thing that bugs me about multiprey is how spirit walk works in it. The spirit that leaves the body is invincible and you have to attack the body they left behind in order to hurt them. When it is closeby this is no big deal but they can tuck their body away in some dark corner somewhere in the map and all you can do is run away from their spirit and hope the lag doesn't prevent you from getting away. Then hope you can find their body to end their spiritual rampage. x_X;
