When I went on a trip to CompUSA to see what kind of deals they may have. They had the 24 Inch iMac next to the 30 inch Apple Cinema Display hooked up to a Mac Pro. The interesting thing was because of the size of the iMac's case it looked practically as big as the 30 inch Apple Cinema Display; both are huge! It's almost unreal that they would have an iMac so big!
You can get a base model of the 24 inch iMac for the same price as the 30 inch Apple Cinema display alone and it'll look just as huge on your desktop. Plus for less than the money you would pay for both the ACD and a Mac Pro you could add in upgrades like the better graphics chip and more system ram. So the 24 inch iMac sounds like a good deal to me.. I paid as much for my old Pentium II PC as you would pay for a base 24 inch iMac model today and it came with obviously a lot less power, RAM and a 14 inch CRT monitor!
However I'm sort of glad that i can't afford one right now because if they are going to ugprade the graphics prccessing unit and maybe the CPU too in this years Macworld I would like that even more.
