RIP MJJ....
Jun. 26th, 2009 12:07 amYeah, I heard the news about Michael Jackson passing away at the age of 50 today from a cardiac arrest. My dad had called in the afternoon and told me. It didn't even register at first. It was kind of like... say what? They always like to rumor monger about him and make cruel jokes at his expense so you never know.
I checked the internet and the site that was reporting it (TMZ) where just saying that he had been taken to the hospital and that his father said he doesn't look good. Then later on in the afternoon they put up a new article saying not only was he deceased but he had been all afternoon. That he was already dead when the ambulance arrived at his house.
My father said that with cardiac arrest you really only have three minutes to help the person and I'm sure he went well beyond that before they could reach him. They say Latoya ran in to the hospital crying and fans where chanting "save him".
It's also kind of sad that many people especially those born in the 90s will remember him simply as the butt of jokes. Because before those gold diggers ruined his reputation he had a great career and in my opinion good music.
I could almost see this coming though because first of all he sold off his ranch and everything in it recently and he was talking about keeping a new set of music that he made just for his children until after his death. I just didn't think it would come this soon.
I still listen to his music now and then and will continue to do so. Most of the music I listen to by him is his older music from the late 70's and the 80's that I grew up with.
I don't know if this is too soon to say but think of this: He was the king of pop right? He dated Lisa Presley for a while. My mom wondered if she had any children by him (as far as I know no)... but that got me thinking. I wonder if we are going to start having Michael Jackson sightings sooner or later? Maybe, maybe not... but it was still an interesting thought to me.
Also RIP to Farrah Faucet... I didn't know of her nearly as much as MJJ; especially her career. I never was that much of a fan of Charlie's Angels... so I wasn't all that familiar from her there either nor had I seen any of the movies she had acted in later on. At least... not that I can remember.
