Kara.... A Tech Demo Video From Quantic Dream....

Today's video is one that I'm posting because not only is it a good tech demo for the motion capture system Quantic Dream uses it's quite the little movie besides. The performance is really good although contrary to the article I found this from it's still not quite as realistic as live action footage.

But it still evokes emotion and gets the point across and looks good. They used a motion capture system that has forty cameras and stars Valorie Curry of Veronica Mars.

The only problem for me is Quantic Dream went Sony exclusive after Fahrenheit Indigo Prophecy and for example Heavy Rain was a PS3 exclusive when it was originally announced for PC. Same thing happened with Alan Wake from a different studio, Remedy. But they remedied that situation this year releasing Alan Wake for the PC although I'm wondering if anyone is going to port it to the Mac. I haven't tried running it via WINE although I may sooner or later... I digress. It's a little obvious to me they are running it on now "aging" hardware because the visuals aren't as sharp as stuff I've seen running in real time on my computer. But again it gets the job done.

Anyway, like I said earlier this is a good video and I recommend anyone who likes Science Fiction and robots to watch it as I believe it stands on its own as a rather good short film.

Some crude person on the comments said she's an "ugly dyke" but I disagree. I think she's quite cute.

It's the glorified light bright!

As some of you may know the [livejournal.com profile] optimus_project has been working on a keyboard that has mini displays for keys so it can change depending on application. Well, apparently someone actually has a working model in their posession now. What amused me today was how some people at Gizmodo have commented have commented that it looks like a glorified light bright or very christmas-ey. I have to admit that it does look pretty festive. ;) I liked how it looked with black and white keys a bit more actually. However, like I have said before I don't think I would ever be able to justify the price for it. I'm also happy with my aluminum apple keyboard although I would like it if I could rearrange the top keys.
