I have been reading details about an upcoming Ghostbusters game. No not the same one I was talking about a while back. This is a brand new official Ghostbuster game made with the involvement of the entire original cast. That is all of them except for perhaps Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver. So far the confirmed cast includes: Dan Akroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murry, Ernie Hudson, and supporting cast members like Annie Potts and Brian Doyle Murray... I also read that the guy who played Walter Peck in the original movie is going to be in it. It's being made by Terminal Reality for PC, X360 and PS3. Kotaku says there's going to be co-op play although it's not known whether that is confirmed. But it would be awesome if you could play as one of each of the Ghostbuster for four player action. This kind of sounds too good to be true and of course I would like to see it ported to the Mac at some point. Check out this first screenshot! I hope this turns out as insanely great as it's promising to be. I haven't played a good Ghostbusters game since the one I used to play on my first computer which was ported from the C64. Oooh... more screenshots at the Variety article!

This is an interesting looking controller to me.. this time it's the PS3 version.

If I had a PS3 I'd be wanting to get one of those to play FPS games.

Heck... since they say there is a mode to run it as a regular mouse for the PS3 browser I wonder if that would work for the PC\Mac.

I have played some FPS games using a gamepad in my left hand and using the mouse with my right hand which gives you the same effect as this and it works pretty good. Having a dedicated controller specifically for that in a bluetooth wireless version would be neat.

In a previous entry I mentioned that Enemy Territory Quake Wars is coming to the Mac. Well I want to make a more full entry about that game because it has kind of grown on me. Hell.... it's Quake after all!

I don't generally go for war sim type first person shooters but this seems like I may like it for some reason.

and

Looks kind of like RTS and FPS put together. And like I said elsewhere an interesting part is that they made new technology for the maps so the terrain of the whole map is one ginormous texture yet it only takes 8MB of video ram.

I think I might choose the Strogg side though when I play they seem a bit more interesting to me than the GDF side (global defense force).

Sega has just revealed The Typing of The Dead 2! This is cool:

I really enjoyed the original and look forward to this one. It seems as though it's based on The House of the Dead 3.

Nowadays they don't come out with a lot of co-op enabled games because it's hard to do a scripted game. But a new game is coming out from Valve that is supposed to be to co-op what counterstrike was to multiplayer. I like this bit posted by someone as a comment taken from the UK PC Gamer mag:

"Left 4 Dead feels like one of those games that was always about to happen. It's you and your friends versus a city of rabid mutant zombies." Left 4 Dead will hurl four survivor players into a mad world of apocalyptic horror and crazy dead people, asking them to complete objectives while facing a motley zombie horde including scary running zombies, horrible tongue-flicking smokey zombies, jumping leaping hunting zombies, fat hideous bubbling zombies and even huge hulking tanking zombies. But that's not all: the horde will be controlled by an AI 'director' and additional players can leap in to control undead avatars at any point. No screenshots are available as yet."

Makes me feel not so bad about not getting Dead Rising. I hope you can also play it over the LAN instead of over the internet... or you can make your own private servers like you usually can with PC games.

I still need to find someone who I can and woud like to play multiplayer games with though.

This could also be the first game from Valve that takes advantage of multi-core systems for larger more complex worlds with tons and tons and tons of creatures without bogging down and also better AI and physics.

If you have an nvidia 3D card in your computer there are drivers you can download and view any of your games in real 3D with any kind of stereo vision device you might have including Red and Cyan 3D Glasses (anaglyph). If you have some lying around put them on for these three screenshots I am posting here in this entry. I have some 3D Glasses with plastic lenses and frames that look like sunglasses with a mirror finish in the front but the cheap cardboard kind should work. First is from Quake 2, second is from Kingpin: Life of Crime and the third one is from Half-life. The best one out of those three to play with 3D glasses is Kingpin because of it's color scheme. I might post some more screenshots from it later so you can see what I mean. I notice id software engine games like these three are the best ones to play in 3D but all 3D games are truly 3D they just need to be interpreted and viewed with hardware\software that lets you actually see the 3D instead of just being rendered on a flat screen like they usually are. Anyway here are the shots..........
